Debarkation 12/29
We had our bags out right at the 11 p.m. hour on the 29th. We had arranged for blue tags, those with their own arrangements. We received our information that we should be off the ship by 10 (though that was not in the final paperwork), and we settled our bill the night before debarkation. If you use the credit card given at the beginning of the cruise, they do not need it back from you again to finalize. You just indicate whether you want to pay by cash or charge the card you left with them (or another one).
We had received our passports back in San Juan. We completed our comment card and left it at the box at reception. It is a numbered rating system by category, and there is room for comments. We also filled out the US customs form.
We stayed in our cabin until 8:30, though our stewardess told us to stay as long as we wanted.
We took our carry-ons to La Veranda and had a lovely breakfast there with eggs, bacon, baby shrimp, fruits and toast.
We then sat out on the pool deck in sun loungers with some fresh-squeezed juices and noted that no colors were being called. Finally, green was called, but that was a specific group. Elda announced that there was an issue getting the luggage cleared and that they would let us know when they would call. They called a few colors at about 9:40, and then they called our color at about 10:15 or so. We went downstairs, and there was a line of about 20 people. We sat down at the coffee corner for a few minutes and got off at the last call at 10:25 when there were about 4 people in line and others on the way down. It was the sommoliers and bar staff doing the greet for the debarkation, and the singers/dancers were helping out at the luggage area.
We got in a cab immediately and headed straight for the airport. We got there too late for the 11:22 flight (no seats), and it was a long wait for our 2:22 flight, but we got back to Houston at about 4:15 and were home by 5:45 even with a stop at Wendy's on the way home.
